As a homesteader it hits differently when you're doing a hands on project like building a chicken coop. Doing extensive research is necessary to be sure you're on the right track with everything. Measurements must be on point, 'measure twice cut once' is a saying in the fashion industry amongst designers but most contractors could use this saying. Having detailed notes written down or printed out is also important because you would need to have references to your build. Especially if you need to upgrade or redo anything on the structure. Planning anything as a homesteader is important because you want everything to turn out well in the end. So I suggest this for everyone, get into planning with everything.
